JDPC Abuja actively participated in a five-day capacity-building training organized by CBM International on the implementation of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018, held from 22nd to 26th June 2026.

The intensive training brought together stakeholders committed to advancing disability inclusion and strengthening the implementation of disability rights in Nigeria. Throughout the programme, participants engaged in practical discussions, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning aimed at promoting the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Key topics covered during the training included:
* Understanding the Evolving Concept of Disability
* Understanding the Nigeria Disability Law: Alignment with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
* Accessibility, Reasonable Accommodation, and Universal Design
* Intersectionality, Disability, and Gender
* Disability-Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DIDRR)
* Disability-Inclusive Budgeting and Policy Integration
* Legislative Oversight, Accountability, and Compliance Monitoring
* Social Accountability Monitoring and Developing Shadow Reports
The training further strengthened JDPC Abuja’s commitment to promoting inclusive development, advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of sustainable development and social justice.
